About this pregnancy due date calculator
The most common way to estimate a due date is Naegele's rule: count 280 days, or 40 weeks, from the first day of the last menstrual period. If your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days, the date is adjusted by the difference. If you know the date of conception, the due date is 266 days later. This calculator also shows how many weeks you have been pregnant today and the dates of common milestones. It is for general information only.
How to use it
- Choose Last period or Conception date.
- Enter the date, and your average cycle length if you chose Last period.
- Read your estimated due date, current week and milestone dates.
Tips and good to know
A due date is an estimate, and most babies arrive within a couple of weeks before or after it. An early ultrasound can date a pregnancy more accurately than the last period when cycles are irregular. Use the milestones as a guide and follow the checkup schedule recommended by your doctor or midwife.
Frequently asked questions
